My friends all know that if I could just drink my food, I would, and often do. I much prefer drinking to eating and am constantly finding new favorites. My current favorite is a lemon loaf Tazo tea with a bit of stevia and heavy cream. It's delightful, but I do recommend two teabags. My favorite cocktail is much simpler--just some pineapple juice with vodka in it. It's popular in Spain, where I taught for a semester, and I've always carried it with me, although I'll try almost any cocktail once.
Public. Nude. Dining. Would you do it?
There are several restaurants in the world where you can get your drink and food on while in your birthday suit. Several restaurants, particularly in Paris, allow nude dining as an experience during your meal. At O'Naturel, for example, patrons are asked to disrobe and leave their clothing behind before they sit to eat. They may be blocked from being viewed outside the restaurant but all of the guests can see each other dining.
Over-the-top shakes are all the rage right now and TGI Friday's has joined in the fun. The chain is offering enormous shakes garnished with huge marshmallows, sugar cookies and other larger than life treats, but they're also available as boozy shakes if you want to add even more holiday cheer to your drink-desserts!
When it comes to happy hour, sometimes it's all about where you know! Lots of restaurants only post their happy hour details within, making it harder to find a great happy hour unless you are already eating at the restaurant in question. Most places have something going on between 3:00 and 6:00 but it's not always clear, so why not share all of the happy hours that we know in one chat?
It may come as a surprise to some people that having a drink named after you ranks pretty high on many a bucket list. While some of these individuals may achieve gold barfly status, earning themselves a drink named after them, others may have to be content with naming their own drinks after mixing them in the comfort of their own basement bars. Any of these options is fun and as far as I'm concerned counts toward your bucket list checkmark--but the question is, what would a drink named after you look like?
Happy Hour is the social drinker’s best friend, but you have to wonder at those who casually add their poison of choice to their bill regularly. Any given cocktail can easily cost anywhere between $6 and $10, with many drinks even costing more, depending upon their contents and how complicated they are to make. Many restaurants don’t even post drink prices, prompting patrons to blindly order a drink without even knowing what that drink will cost them.
The Jameson’s Irish Whiskey Pancake shot. Enough said right? This shot is now an immediate go to drink on days of pub crawling and nights of abusing the right to be inebriated. With St. Patty’s day coming up in just a couple of weeks it might not be a bad idea to get some Irish themed Drinks. That is if you are like me and are sick of the Mich Golden Lite that has been died green, just can’t do it anymore.
